1933 - Murray goes undefeated in football, including a 105-0 win over Louisville.  Combined season score was 255-25

1940s

1941 - Baseball team returns after an eight-year hiatus; WWII stops the program again, returns in 1946.

1943 - WWII suspends football for one season

1948 - Murray State Teachers College becomes Murray State College

1948 - Murray State College helps form the Ohio Valley Conference on February 27-28 in Louisville.

1950s

1951 - Men's Basketball gets first national ranking on Feb. 27 at #20.

1954 - Men's Tennis program begins
1954 - Racer Arena opens on Dec. 11, Middle Tennessee first Racer Arena victim, 104-80

1956 - Rifle's first season

1960s

1960 - Men's Golf program begins
1966 - Murray State College becomes Murray State University

1966 - Women's Tennis has first season
1968 - Women's Cross Country started

1970s

1971 - Women's Basketball begins
1973 - Roy Stewart Stadium opens, Racers win over Western Carolina 27-25

1978 - Rifle team celebrates National Championship

1980s

1983 - Women's Volleyball has first season
1985 - Rifle team celebrates 2nd National Championship

1987 - Rifle team celebrates 3rd National Championship

1988 - The Racers get their first NCAA Tournament win with an 78-75 upset over North Carolina State.

1990s

1993 - Women's Golf has first season
1998 - Rowing becomes varsity sport
1998 - Regional Special Events Center opens, Racers post a 68-65 win over SIU in first game on Nov. 14

1999 - Racer basketball is seen by a capacity crowd of 8,602 at the RSEC, the largest home crowd in history, against SEMO.

2000s

2000 - Women's Soccer becomes newest sport at MSU
