Tarod Sanders

(June 7, 2007)  Before MSU: Joins the MSU program after a successful two seasons at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan. where he led the team to a 33-5 record in the 2006-07 season and an appearance in the National Junior College Championship last March where Coffeyville finished third ... Scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Region-6 championship game against Barton County ... He average 9.9 points per game and hauled in 6.0 rebounds per game last season ... Sanders played his prep basketball at Chanute HS in Chanute, Kan.

Personal: Born November 17, 1986 ... Son of Ouida Sanders ... Majoring in integrated studies.


Isacc Miles

(July 27, 2007)  Before MSU: Transfers to Murray State after an outstanding freshman season at Creighton ... Will sit out the 2007-08 season under NCAA transfer guidelines ... In his first season at Creighton in 2006-07 he averaged 6.1 points per game along with 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists and was selected as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference’s All-Freshman team ... Was a four-year starter at Bishop Miege HS and earned All-Metro recognition from the Kansas City Star as a junior and senior and was a three-time all-state selection in Kansas ... Won the DiRenna Award as Kansas City’s best player ... Left as the school’s all-time leading scorer ... Averaged 24 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and four steals as a senior ... Had a high scoring game of 40 points and a high assist game of 15 ... Played in the Kansas vs. Missouri All-Star Game.

Personal: Born February 3, 1988 ... Son of Carol Castell ... Major is undecided.


Ivan Evans

(June 7, 2007)  Before MSU: Was part of a Barton County CC team that went 27-7 in 2006-07 and missed qualifying for the National Junior College Tournament by one game...Started more than 50 games over the last two years with Barton County that won 45 games during that time...Last season as a sophomore with the Cougars, Evans was the team’s second leading scorer (15.0 ppg) and leading rebounder (9.0 rpg)... Was named Jayhawk Conference Honorable Mention....During freshman season in 2005-06, Evans earned runner-up Freshman of the Year honors in the JC....Played prep basketball at Germantown HS in Philadelphia, Pa.

Personal: Born October 13, 1985 ... Son of Webster Evans and Vanessa Buistion ... Majoring in criminal justice.


Jewuan Long, an all-state point guard in Tennessee signed with the Racers.

(November 8, 2006)  Murray State Men’s Basketball Head Coach Billy Kennedy announced the signing of 6-1 guard Jewuan Long of Liberty Tech High School in Jackson, Tenn.

Long helped lead Liberty Tech to the Tennessee Class 2A State Championship last season and was named state tournament MVP. He was also named to the Tennessee Class 2A All-State Team.

Andre Whitehead of tnprephoops.com ranks Long fourth in the class of 2007 high school seniors in the state.

Kennedy is excited to sign a point guard with Long’s talent.  More...


Matt Fraliex of Caldwell County HS will join the Racers next season.Matt Fraliex

(November 8, 2006)  Murray State Men’s Basketball Head Coach Billy Kennedy announced the signing of 6-4 guard Matt Fraliex of Caldwell County High School in Princeton, Ky.

Fraliex is one of the most prolific high school players in Kentucky and averaged 26.2 points per game as a junior (fifth-best in the state) and is just the third player in Caldwell County history to top the 2,000 point mark.

“Matt comes from a good basketball family,” Kennedy said. “He’s a big guard who can really shoot the ball and has a good feel for the game.”  More...
